Hawkshead Relish, which produced the limited edition `Princely Plum Jam' to celebrate the royal wedding has received an order from Japan for this collectable condiment.
Production will now continue to cover the request, which is being shipped to Osaka in the Kansai eastern region.
Barlington Inc. which normally specialises in British high qualities teas placed the order following the royal event which saw the country gripped by the very British spectacle resulting in a huge interest in commemorative specialities.
Mark Whitehead, managing director of the Hawkshead Relish Company was overwhelmed by the request: "The order was totally out of the blue! I am amazed that it is for the Japanese market! We had no intention of following up this limited creation with another run but we decided it would be our pleasure. We have never supplied Japan before."
English Plums were combined with a tipple of Champagne to create the perfect wedding breakfast condiment and commemorative labelling ensured the unique nature of this culinary creation.
